The 31st Annual Guenter Behr Moose Stew Dinner is here!
SAEN’s annual Moose Stew Dinner brings together supporters, community members, and friends of Atlantic salmon conservation for an evening of great food and fellowship. The event also provides an opportunity to recognize individuals who have made meaningful contributions to salmon conservation through the presentation of the Guenter Behr Award. Proceeds help support SAEN’s ongoing work to protect and restore Atlantic salmon and their freshwater habitats across Eastern Newfoundland.

NOMINATIONS FOR THE 2026 GUENTER BEHR AWARD ARE NOW OPEN
The Guenter Behr Wild Atlantic Salmon Conservation Award is SAEN’s longest-standing award, established in 1980 in memory of Mr. Guenter Behr, an avid outdoorsman and conservationist who passed away in 1979.Mr. Behr practiced conservation in all his outdoor activities and was truly one of those early conservationists. With over 20 years of conservation experience, Mr. Behr joined the Salmonid Association of Eastern Newfoundland (SAEN) in 1979 as one of its founding Board of Directors and was instrumental in assisting the Association during its preliminary stages. This award honours those individuals, groups, corporations, or agencies which have demonstrated outstanding conservation or protection activities related to salmon and trout populations within our province.
