ASCF Cheque Presentation to SAEN

On August 14, 2008, Don Norman, past president of the Salmonid Association of Eastern Newfoundland (SAEN), received a cheque in the amount of $22,500 from the Atlantic Salmon Conservation Foundation (ASCF). This money will be used to assist in the startup of new stewardship groups throughout the province and to help a number of newly started groups in their day to day operations. Norman stated that his group strongly endorses the concept of local stewardship associations accepting responsibility for the wise management of their rivers and streams and is in a position to assist in the organizing.
